Service Compliance Checks and UX Assessments
eServices conducts Service Compliance Checks and User Experience (UX) Assessments on all government digital services that have a public-facing component. These checks and assessments are mandatory. We conduct them to:
- make sure digital services meet the government's Digital Service Standards; and
- ensure the government releases consistent, quality digital services that are easy to use and accessible.
Service Compliance Checks
Service Compliance Checks are led by the project's eServices project lead. These check-ins take place toward the end of Discovery, Alpha and Beta phases.
The purpose of these checks is to ensure digital services are designed to meet compliance requirements before they are released to the public.
These compliance checks are mandatory checkpoints to confirm government digital services meet the Digital Service Standards.
How to tell which Service Compliance Checks you must complete
Every project is different. Some will go through all 3 Service compliance checks, while others may go through combined checks. This depends on the project's status, size and complexity. The eServices project lead will guide you through the process requirements and checks as needed.
When you begin your partnership with eServices you'll be provided access to a SharePoint project folder. This folder will include the project compliance log and other relevant reference documents for the Service Compliance Checks related to your project.
UX assessments
UX assessments are led by the User Experience Manager for your project. These assessments take place after Discovery, Alpha and Beta.
The purpose of these assessments is to ensure teams have completed the required user research to desgn and deliver consistent, user-friendly, accessible digital services to the public.
How to tell which UX assessments your service must undergo
Every project is different. Some will go through all of these assessments, some will go through combined assessments and some will skip assessments. This all depends on the current status of the project and its size and complexity.
When you start your partnership with eServices you'll be provided access to a SharePoint project folder. This folder will have templates and scoring criteria for all of the UX assessments for your project.
